Microsoft PowerPoint – transforming a bulleted list into SmartArt

When giving a PowerPoint presentation, bulleted lists are useful for getting points across, but they do not have much visual impact.
SmartArt gives visual impact to a bulleted list.
To create SmartArt from a bulleted list:

  1. Select the bulleted list.
  2. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click Convert to SmartArt Graphic.
  3. From the dropdown, select an appropriate graphic for the bulleted list, or click More SmartArt Graphics, in which case the Choose a SmartArt Graphic dialog box will be displayed.
  4. Click on an option in the middle section and the right section will give a preview. Select your required SmartArt, then click OK.
  5. The SmartArt will be displayed on the slide instead of the bulleted list. The SmartArt Tools Design contextual tab will be displayed, allowing you to change styles and colours.
